CHOOSING A SOLUTION
Remote access compared: RuDesk and 6 alternatives
Compare RuDesk with six other products by remote support features, platforms, infrastructure and cost.
Data checked on 20 September 2026
At a glance
RuDesk is free, with no time, device or commercial-use limits, using our servers in Russia. RuDesktop’s published cloud offer includes a free mode limited to two hours a day. The free editions of AnyDesk and TeamViewer are for personal, non-commercial use. RustDesk Server OSS is free to self-host, but its deployment, updates and administration remain your responsibility.
You only pay for the work we do: if you need a server within your own network, installation, configuration and ongoing support are quoted separately. The product itself remains free.
Work tools without an app subscription: remote desktop, file transfer, shared clipboard, unattended access, multiple monitors, address book, terminal and TCP tunnelling. Individual modes depend on the platform and device settings.
What does the first year cost?
01A scenario with 5 concurrent connections: a typical support team. First-year costs, with the cost basis stated for each option.
| Product | Cost | Free-version conditions |
|---|---|---|
| RuDesk App and our hosted infrastructure | $0 | No time, device or commercial-use limits |
| RustDesk (OSS) Own server; hosting and administration are extra | $0 + hosting | Self-hosted deployment, updates and administration are your responsibility |
| RustDesk Server Pro Basic Annual licence; hosting is extra | From USD 23.88/month, annual billing | Current plan terms and hosting are listed by the vendor |
| RuDesktop cloud Published cloud tariff | From ≈$25 per connection/month | Free mode: up to 2 hours a day |
| Assistent Corporation Cloud; 5 connections; perpetual licence | Quote from the vendor or partner | Free for personal, educational and non-commercial use |
| RuDesktop on-premises Published on-premises offer | From ≈$1,886 plus connections | — |
| AnyDesk Standard Standard, annual billing; terms vary by region | From USD 39.92/month, annual billing | Personal non-commercial use only |
| TeamViewer Availability and price depend on the vendor or reseller | Sales discontinued in Russia | Personal use; suspected commercial use can restrict connections |
Prices and plan limits change regularly. We show public starting prices where the vendor publishes them; for products sold by quotation, request a current commercial offer. Hosting, taxes, extra connections and support may be charged separately. We do not convert currencies using an arbitrary exchange rate.

Work features come first, followed by platforms, infrastructure and terms of use. “Yes” means the product offers the feature, not that every plan or version includes it. Availability depends on the OS, edition and granted permissions; unconfirmed features are marked separately.

RuDesk for support and administration
03RuDesk combines remote support tools with ready-to-use infrastructure in Russia. The app is free for personal and business use.
Desktop and files. Control a device, transfer files and use the shared clipboard in one working session.
Administration tools. Terminal access and port forwarding help with maintenance tasks without a separate app subscription.
Device organisation. Address book contacts and tags help organise devices, while unattended access lets you connect after initial setup.
Ready-to-use infrastructure. Get started with RuDesk servers in Russia. Deployment within your network and ongoing support are available by arrangement.
Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, including dedicated Astra Linux and ALT Linux builds. Free use at home, in technical support and for business.
Why is it free? What is the catch?
04There is no catch. There is a clear boundary, and we explain it openly.
Free: the full app and connections through our servers in Russia. No time limits, device limits or distinction between personal and commercial use. No payment card is needed. The address book and account features use a user account. If RuDesk helps you at work, you can support the project with a voluntary donation; it does not change your access.
Paid: hands-on services only. If you need a RuDesk server within your own network, we install, configure and maintain it. The cost depends on the scale and is discussed individually. The product remains free: you pay for deployment and support, not for the right to use the software.
How to try RuDesk in 10 minutes
05- Download RuDesk on two computers — it takes about a minute.
- Connect using the ID and temporary password.
- Test what matters to you: speed on your connection, your corporate NAT, a large file transfer and the terminal.
- If something does not work, email hello@rudesk.pro or contact @rudeskpro on Telegram.
Frequently asked questions
06What is the catch with free RuDesk?
There is no catch. The app and connections through our servers are free, with no time, device or commercial-use limits. Only hands-on services are paid: installing and supporting a RuDesk server within your network, if needed. Voluntary donations support development.
Is RuDesk a fork of RustDesk?
Yes. The client codebase historically grew out of RustDesk, and we say so openly. RuDesk supplies tested packages, Russian-language interface and support, and ready-to-use infrastructure in Russia. RustDesk OSS can be self-hosted for free; deployment, updates and administration are the responsibility of the infrastructure owner. Server Pro adds separately licensed central-management features.
Where are RuDesk servers located?
RuDesk’s server infrastructure is located in Russia. Our privacy policy describes the processing of personal data and the services used by the website.
Is RuDesk in the Russian software register or FSTEC-certified?
Not currently. If your procurement specifically requires registration or certification, consider RuDesktop or the applicable certified edition of Assistent. We prefer to explain this before deployment.
Why does Windows show a SmartScreen warning?
Download the installer only from rudesk.pro over HTTPS. SmartScreen considers file and publisher-signature reputation, so new or unsigned builds may trigger a warning. A warning alone proves neither that a file is safe nor that it is malicious. A publisher signature does not guarantee that warnings disappear immediately. If in doubt, scan the file with antivirus software and contact support.
Does RuDesk work behind NAT and corporate firewalls?
RuDesk uses NAT traversal and relay servers for internet connections. Outgoing connections must be allowed by your corporate network policy; coordinate the setup with your administrator if the network is tightly restricted.
Can RuDesk be deployed on our own servers?
Yes. We can install, configure and maintain a server in your own network. The cost is discussed individually and depends on the scale. Contact hello@rudesk.pro.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows, macOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Astra Linux, ALT Linux and Android have published RuDesk 1.0.27 packages. Compatibility depends on the distribution, desktop session and device settings; test the required target before rollout. A stable iOS client is not published.
How current is the competitor information?
Prices, free-use conditions and key terms were checked on 20 September 2026 against vendor public pages. Terms may change: confirm the current price, country availability and plan limits with the seller before purchase. Found a discrepancy? Email hello@rudesk.pro and we will correct it.
